Deborah Yashar, the Donald E. Stokes Professor of Public and International Affairs, Professor of Politics and International Affairs, and Director of the Princeton Institute for International and Regional Studies (PIIRS) has received the Department's annual teaching prize. First awarded in 1988, the Stanley Kelley Award for Excellence is given every year to a member of the Politics faculty to recognize outstanding teaching. The prize's namesake, Stanley Kelley, joined the Politics faculty in 1957 and taught at the University for nearly 40 years.
Her students consistently note that Deborah is extremely well-prepared for class; that she is an effective leader of discussion and creator of classroom conversations; and that she gives timely and detailed feedback to students.
The Department of Politics warmly congratulates Professor Yashar on this achievement.
