Amanda Kastern, who has served as senior manager of finance and administration in the Department of Politics since 2012, is leaving Politics for a new role in the Office of the Provost, effective May 6, 2024.

Amanda is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the department, including academic administration, financial management, and staff supervision. She works closely with the department chair to ensure the effective administration of all department functions.

“Amanda has been an outstanding leader in the department for the past twelve years,” said Alan Patten, the department chair. “Her strategic thinking, excellent judgment, and dedication to staff mentoring and well-being, not to mention her kindness and good cheer, have set a very high standard for academic management. We wish her all the best in the Office of the Provost.”

Andrew Duddy, business manager in Politics, will serve as acting manager until a permanent replacement is hired.
