On 14th October, Scholz and Müller, the Class of 1943 University Professor at Princeton, will debate whether there can be a specifically democratic form of architecture; the event will be held at the Urania Hall in Belrin and be moderated by the distinguished art historian Charlotte Klonk, a professor at Humboldt University (one of Princeton’s strategic partners).  Scholz, who served as chancellor from 2021 to 2025, has a strong interest in modern architecture, with his offices prominently displaying a black-and-white photo of Sep Ruf and Egon Eiermann's famous German Pavilion at Expo 1958.; he is also an honorary member of the association supporting the Mies van der Rohe House in Berlin.  Müller has taught both undergraduate and graduate courses on the topic of achitecture and democracy.  In May this year, Allen Lane published his book Street, Palace, Square: The Architecture of Democratic Spaces.
