Dela Kpo, a PhD alum, has won the APCG-Lynne Rienner Best Dissertation Award for the best dissertation in African politics. This prize is awarded annually by the African Studies Association.

She has also received an honorable mention for Best Dissertation Prize from APSA's Migration & Citizenship section.
