Roberto holds a Dr. Sc. In Political Science from ETH Zürich and a MA in Comparative and International Studies from ETH Zürich and the University of Zürich. In 2022, he was a visiting researcher at UC Berkeley’s Institute for Eastern European and Eurasian Studies. Roberto’s research concerns the origins and consequences of political identities at the intersection of comparative politics, historical political economy and international relations. Other co-authored projects study the causes of political violence, the dynamics of public opinion, and religious politics.
