Development Policy
Instructor: Nicholas Kuipers
This practicum invites students to investigate the drivers of economic development across countries around the globe. Students will interrogate competing definitions of “development” and critically assess the efficacy of efforts designed to boost the fortunes of countries and communities. Special emphasis will be placed on evaluating both the institutions and interventions that shape the outcomes we observe today. Focusing on the topic of development, students will learn how to develop a research plan to evaluate related hypotheses leveraging empirical evidence.
