Congratulations to Chantal Berman and Yang-Yang Zhou, both graduate students in comparative politics, who were awarded Harvard Academy Fellowships.
 
Berman will begin her fellowship in fall 2019 and will focus on her book project, currently titled “Protest, Social Policy, and Political Regimes in the Middle East.” After completing the program in 2020, Berman will join the Department of Government at Georgetown University as an assistant professor.
 
This fall, Zhou will join the Department of Political Science at the University of British Columbia as an assistant professor. She will begin the fellowship in August 2021, and plans to further her dissertation work in the form of a book manuscript entitled “How Refugee Resentment Shapes National Identity and Citizen Participation in Africa.”
