Africa is experiencing a pivotal period in its relation to global powers. The world is awakening to the importance of the continent, soon to be home to 25% of the world population in 30 years. Theories on the rise of Africa may pave way for a "new scramble for Africa". But, with an active role of its political and business leaders, Africa is becoming the prime focus of global development finance. “Official Development Assistance” is quickly morphing into new strategic investments from world powers.

How should Africa retake centre stage and respond to this renewed interest at a time of rapid political and economic transitions? How can the continent turn this "scramble for Africa" to its advantage and deliver sustainable outcomes and prosperity for its citizens?

Join us for a talk by Dr. Ibrahim Assane Mayaki, Chief Executive Officer of the African Union Development Agency-NEPAD (AUDA-NEPAD) and Former Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Niger, on “Africa’s Critical Choices: New Directions for a Pan-African Roadmap to Development."
