Professor Leonard Wantchekon has been appointed by the Secretary-General of the United Nations to a High-Level Expert Group to develop recommendations for measures that complement or go beyond Gross Domestic Product. Gross Domestic Product is relied upon as a gauge of prosperity, but provides an incomplete picture of the different dimensions of sustainable development.
