Talia Sharpp is a 2018 graduate of Hampton University where she earned her BA in Political Science. While there, Talia was a part of the 2016-2018 cohort of Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellows. Her work has been supported by the Summer Program in Literary Analysis and Success in the Humanities fellowship with the English department at the University of California, Davis in collaboration. She explores questions of justice, existence, and power within and across philosophy of literature, critical theory, and the black radical tradition. Throughout and beyond doctoral study, her goal is to continue to produce research that supports the development of curriculum for teaching political education and critical literacy through black contemporary fiction in a multi-generational community setting.
