Rachel Mariman is a Princeton native who joined the Department of Politics in October 2018.
As a Faculty Assistant, she provides administrative and logistical support to roughly 15 members of the Politics Faculty, as well as two graduate research seminars, two departmental colloquia, and the Fellowship of Woodrow Wilson Scholars.
Before joining Politics, Rachel served under Mayor Muriel Bowser as her liaison to DC’s Ward 6. As one of her special projects in this role, Rachel spearheaded community engagement for the new DC United Soccer Stadium and coordinated the District’s response to community concerns.
Prior to her appointment at the Mayor’s Office, Rachel managed membership, communications, and events for the Council on Competitiveness – a non-profit focused on enhancing U.S. economic competitiveness, with a particular emphasis on science, technology, and innovation policy.
Rachel holds a B.A. in Political Science, a B.A. in International Studies, and a Minor in Education Studies from American University. Her areas of expertise are Gender, Race and Politics and International Politics.
